Dr. Rinky J. Walia is a Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician who has been in practice for over ten years. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center, a teaching hospital of Rosalind Franklin University.
Dr. Walia practices outpatient medicine, where she sees patients for routine checkups and general health problems and helps manage overall patient health. She specializes in diagnosing, treating, and caring for adults across the spectrum, from wellness checkups to complex illnesses. In addition, she is involved in the overall collaboration in treating chronic diseases and in health promotion which involves a multidisciplinary team of specialized experts. Her practice involves a strong emphasis on preventive care, including mammograms, Pap smears, routine colon cancer screening evaluations, cholesterol screening, and blood pressure screening.
In addition to outpatient medicine, she also specializes in inpatient medicine dedicated to the delivery of comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients. She engages in clinical care, teaching, and taking an active role in leadership related to hospital medicine. She helps to manage and treat a significant range of complex and comorbid diseases. In addition to her role as a hospitalist, her additional responsibilities including supervising fellow physicians.
